 DONALA WATER & SANITATION BUDGET BILLING HAS BEEN TERMINATED 

 

 
A few Donala customers have been using the District’s “Budget Billing” program based on their water usage from the previous year, reconciling the account in November of each year.  Unfortunately, in 2010 there was a large amount owed by most customers because 2009 (the base year) was a “wet” year and customers used much more water in 2010.  The balances were recovered but several customers were upset.

This year we found a “glitch” in the budget billing program.  We have manually calculated every account and provided refunds or new bills to each customer.  Because of the fluctuations in water use due to weather, the budget billing program glitch, and the fact that only about 1% of our customers used the program, we are eliminating this program effective 2012. 

We will be glad to provide water usage history to authorized customers for self-budgeting payments and the debit or credit balance is always shown on the water bills.
