VANDALISM
On the night of June 10th someone stole several of the
District’s orange traffic cones. They were on the manholes we had
raised on Westchester Drive after the County re-paved it. The cones
were there for a reason – to keep our customers from driving into the
ruts left until our paving company could complete the job.
If anyone has information on the whereabouts of the cones, please call
us (488-3603). If they are returned voluntarily there will be no
repercussions.
Irrigation Rationing
At this writing, we are three weeks into the rationing program. I
congratulate everyone for the outstanding cooperation. It is too early
yet to determine what kind of conservation we are attaining, but we will
do that analysis and report to you in the fall. The month of June so
far has been almost like June of last year – not as hot but dry. So our
comparison numbers might be a good indicator of the success of the
program.
We have issued several warning letters and hopefully now everyone knows
their schedule. Remember, if you need a change to the schedule
(different days, extra for new seed, etc.), email your request to us at
jsdonala@earthlink.net or call us at 488-3603.
WATER RETURNS PROJECT
Our nine District participants have been through four workshops now and
most are well underway with their landscape changes. Check’em out!
Their addresses and contact information is listed below.
They have offered to advise and offer their expertise to the rest of us
in our quest to conserve water and save $$$.
WASTE PLANT EXPANSION
Our project to expand and replace the waste plant is close to 80%
complete. We hope to start up the new process in September, and hold an
open house and tours later in the fall. Costs of the project have
escalated 60% since the start, mostly due to hugh increase costs in
concrete, steel and copper. Of course, the high fuel costs transfer
down to us – the customer – as well. As of now, the total cost of the
project will be about $16 million, split between Donala and the Triview
Metro District.
PRIVACY INFORMATION
We often receive phone calls for account balances and other information
on water bills. Because of privacy laws, we will only provide such
information to individuals named on the account. Financial information
(such as amount owed on a bill) is considered privileged. Often times
this becomes an issue when there is a divorce and the individual named
on the account has moved out and is no longer taking responsibility for
the bill. To avoid confusion and to be sure the correct names are on
the account take a look at the names on the accompanying bill. If the
name(s) are incorrect or you want someone added or deleted, please send
or fax (488-3110) or email a letter saying so to
jsdonala@earthlink.net.
